Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Harvard Arab Alumni Association and the Arab & MENA student groups of Harvard, we would like to welcome you to the upcoming 3rd Annual Harvard Arab Weekend taking place on November 12-15, 2009 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This unique forum unites students and professionals with world-renowned experts to expose the all-encompassing nature of the Arab World and the diverse milieu that is the Middle East & North Africa region.
As the world recovers from an unprecedented financial downturn, public and private institutions across the globe seek innovative means to overcome the daunting challenges they face. Through this year's theme "From Tradition to Innovation | Leading Change in MENA" the students of Harvard will explore innovations that stem from a region rich in traditions. From the birth of the green oasis of MASDAR to the revitalization of the ancient landmark of Fez, we will take you on a unique journey of discovery and understanding. The exciting program we offer you this year will also include joint panels between the various graduate schools as well as a poster session. In addition to a series of spectacular panels, this event will be host to the 4th Annual Career Fair, a Civil Society Forum and an Alumni Gala Dinner.
We anticipate the participation of over 500 students and alumni from leading universities across the United States, prominent figures from the MENA region, and leading global and regional institutions.
The Harvard Arab Weekend is a student-led initiative organized by the following groups within Harvard University: Harvard Arab Alumni Association, Harvard Business School MENA Club, Harvard Kennedy School Arab Caucus, Harvard College Society of Arab Students, HSPH MENA Student Group, HLS Middle East Law Students Association, GSD Club MEDINA, The Middle East Initiative, and The Dubai Initiative.
We look forward to greeting you in November!
