Dear Friends,
We look forward to welcoming you to the 2nd Annual Harvard MENA
Weekend taking place on December 4-6, 2008 in Boston. This event aims
to raise awareness of key trends and developments in MENA and to address
the increasing interest of students seeking professional opportunities
in the region. This year's theme “Eyes on MENA: Opportunities Amidst
Global Turmoil” will address developments and explore opportunities
in business, economic development, civil society and public health in
the MENA region during a period in which the world is facing overwhelming
financial challenges. The weekend includes several components anchored
by the Harvard MENA Conference, the 3rd Annual Career Fair, a Civil Society
Forum and an Alumni Awards Dinner
We expect the Harvard MENA Weekend to build on the tremendous success of
last year's inaugural weekend which attracted more than 400 participants including
students and alumni from leading universities across the United States, prominent
figures from our region, and leading global and regional institutions.
The Harvard MENA Weekend is a student-led initiative organized by the following
groups within Harvard University: Harvard Arab Alumni Association (HAAA), Harvard
Business School MENA Club, Harvard Kennedy School Arab Caucus, Harvard College
Society of Arab Students, MENA Students Group at HSPH, The Middle East Initiative,
and the Dubai Initiative.
We look forward to welcoming you in December.
Regards,
Harvard MENA Weekend Organizing Team
