The Harvard Arab Alumni Association and the Arab & MENA student groups of Harvard welcomed over 500 participants to the 3rd Annual Harvard Arab Weekend on November 12–15, 2009 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This unique forum united students and professionals with world-renowned experts to expose the all-encompassing nature of the Arab World and the diverse milieu that is the Middle East & North Africa region.

As the world was recovering from an unprecedented financial downturn, public and private institutions across the globe sought innovative means to overcome the daunting challenges they faced. Through the theme From Tradition to Innovation | Leading Change in MENA the students of Harvard explored innovations that stem from a region rich in traditions. From the birth of cutting-edge enterprises in health and business to the revitalization of historic landmarks, we had a unique journey of discovery and understanding. The exciting program we offered this year also included joint panels between the various graduate schools as well as a poster session. In addition to a series of spectacular panels, this event was host to the 4th Annual Career Fair, a Civil Society Forum and an Alumni Gala Dinner.
