The HAAA elects two projects annually to focus on during the course of the upcoming year. The success of these projects relies on the involvement of our membership and on the generous support of our sponsors. The HAAA always welcomes ideas for new projects. Please submit any project ideas to info@harvardarabalumni.org Academic Journal Project Vision for journal: . The journal will include academic articles on a wide variety of subjects pertaining to the Arab world (including political, social, economic, religious, artistic, and business topics). o Eventually, when there is a sufficient volume of submissions, we will consider focusing each issue on a specific topic o We will solicit article submissions from graduate students and faculty members in universities throughout the US, Europe, and Arab world as well as from individuals working with other research institutions . The Editorial Committee will be composed of Harvard faculty members, Harvard graduate students, and members of the HAAA Executive Board and Academic Journal planning committee. The Editorial Committee will solicit article submissions and then review submissions in order to select the most appropriate articles for publication. The Editorial Committee will also make any editorial changes required prior to publication . We will also consider translating the journal into Arabic for wider distribution in the Arab world . Beginning in 2006, the journal will be published quarterly. In 2004, we aim to publish one volume (in the last quarter of the year); in 2005, we will aim to publish two issues of the journal Opportunities to get involved: .
